【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthegeneral,physical,chemical,andperformancerequirementsforSupplementalCoolantAdditives(SCAs)ataprechargedlevelinthecoolingsystemsofheavy-dutyengines.Note18212;Afterprecharging,SCAsarecustomarilyusedperiodicallytoservicecoolingsystemsatx00BC;to1/3theprechargeddosagetocompensateforadditiveslostthroughdilutionanddepletion.1.2TheSCAproductsmeetingthisspecificationareintendedforusewithwater,withrecommendeddilutionsofcoolantconcentrates,withpredilutedenginecoolants,ortoupgradetheperformanceoflight-dutyenginecoolantstomeettheheav-dutyrequirementsofSpecificationD6210.Enginecoolantproductsshallbeofthelow-silicatetypeand,ifethyleneglycolbased,shallmeetSpecificationD4985.Propyleneglycolbaselow-silicatetypecoolantproductsmayalsobeused,ifthesematerialsmeetthechemicalandperformancerequirementsofSpecificationD4985.1.3TheSCAconcentrate,beforedissolution,maybeineitherliquid,solid,orslurryform.Theformisasagreeduponbetweenthemanufacturerandtheuser.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsinparenthesesareapproximateequivalentsprovidedforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
