【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesthecodedrepresentationoftextualinformationfortimedpresentationonscreens.Thetextmaybestreamedinassociationwithvideoandaudio,inwhichcasethetextmayrepresentsubtitlese.g.withtranslationsoftheassociatedaudioinanotherlanguage,orasanaidtothehardofhearing;anotherexampleisthetextofasonginaKaraokeapplication.However,thetextmayalsobestreamedasastand-aloneapplicationwithoutanyassociatedvideoandaudio.Thestreamingtextformatisspecifiedinatransportagnosticmanner,soastoallowtransportoveralargevarietyoftransportmeans,whileprovidingareasonablelevelofrandomaccessanderrorrobustness.Thetextstreamsaredefinedasbytestreamsthatarecapableofcarryingtextaccessunitsofaspecifiedformat,optionallyinterleavedwithdataneededforthedecodingofthetextstream.Theformatoftextstreamsandtextaccessunitsisspecified,aswellassignalinganddecodingoftextstreams.
