【摘要】:1.1ThisStandardappliestohand-ortool-appliedsplicingwireandcableconnectorsintendedforusewithallalloysofcopperoraluminumconductors,orboth,inaccordancewiththeCanadianElectricalCodePartI,C22.1,inCanada,theNationalElectricalCode,NFPA-70,intheUnitedStatesofAmerica,ortheStandardforElectricalInstallations,NOM-001-SEDE,inMexico,asfollows:a)connectorsintendedtoholdtwoormoreconductor(s);b)connectorsintendedforuseinappliancesandequipmentthatcomplywiththerequirementsforsuchappliancesandequipment;c)connectorsintendedforusewith6AWG(13.3mm2)orsmallerconductors;andd)uninsulatedconnectorsthatareusedincircuitsrated8000Vandless.Note:Examplesofsplicingwireconnectorsincludetwist-onconnectors,insulation-piercingordisplacementconnectors,spring-actionconnectors,tool-appliedcrimp,mechanicalset-screwconnectors,etc.1.2ThisStandardisintendedforsplicingwireconnectorssuitableforusewithconductorsinthesizerangesasfollows:a)Aluminum:1)12AWG(3.3mm2)and10AWG(5.3mm2)solid;and2)12AWG(3.3mm2)to6AWG(13.3mm2)stranded,ClassBconcentric,compressed,andunidirectionallaycompact.InM倄ico,theuseofaluminumconductorsispermittedonlywiththermosetinsulationandforsizesof6AWG(13.3mm2)andhigher.b)Copper:1)30AWG(0.05mm2)to10AWG(5.3mm2)solid;and2)30AWG(0.05mm2)to6AWG(13.3mm2)stranded,ClassBconcentricandcompressed,andClassCconcentric.c)Compact-strandedcopperconductors:InCanadaandMexico,for8AWG(8.4mm2)and6AWG(13.3mm2).IntheUnitedStatesthisisnotapplicable.d)Rigid(solidandstranded)metricwirefallingwithintherangesoftheaboveAWGsizes.Note:Forexample,aconnectorratedfor6AWG(13.3mm2)-14AWG(2.1mm2)maybeadditionallyratedfor10-2.5mm2.e)Otherclassandstrandconfigurationsasindicatedbymarking.1.3Theserequirementscoversplicingwireconnectorsintendedfor:a)copper-to-copper;b)aluminum-to-aluminum;c)copper-to-aluminumconductorcombinationsintendedforintermixingofconductorsanddrylocationsonly;ord)alloftheabove.1.4ThisStandardisintendedforsplicingwireconnectorssuitableforcurrentsnotexceedingtheampacityofinsulatedconductorsrated75鳦or90鳦,inaccordancewiththeratingoftheconnector.1.5ThisStandarddoesnotapplyto:a)splicingwireconnectorsintendedfordirectburial;b)insulatedsplicingwireconnectorsintendedforuseatvoltagelevelsinexcessof600V(1000Vinasignorluminaire);c)terminalwireconnectors;d)wirebindingscrewterminals;e)built-interminalconnectorsondevicesratedlessthan30Aandintendedforoutletboxmountingorhavingprovisionforstressrelief;f)built-interminalconnectorsondeviceshavingintegralcableclamps;g)flatquickconnectterminals;andh)solderinglugs.
